Shailaja Menon, MD

Dr. Shailaja Menon is a Member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.

Dr. Menon is an internist who has additional training in Laser Lipolysis, Medical Weight Management, Aesthetic Medicine and Anti-Aging Medicine.

She received her Laser Lipolysis training from the world renowned Plastic Surgeon Robert Stephen Mulholland.

She has been interested in aesthetics since her teenage years when she had suffered from severe Acne. This has caused a lot of undue stress and pain for her. She has since been educating herself regarding skin care and various modalities of treatments. She began training with the leading anti-aging physicians and clinics in the country. Dr. Menon is certified in cosmetic use of Botox, the cosmetic use of fillers, medical grade Microdermabrasion, chemical peels and the aesthetic use of lasers.

She is very passionate about acne treatments as she understands the effects of acne aesthetically, emotionally and psychologically. She is constantly training herself in newer modalities for skin rejuvenation and anti-aging treatments.

Obesity is an epidemic that is getting out of control. She has firsthand experience with this due to her genetics. She comes from a family of healthy individuals who have slowly become obese and developed diseases related to obesity. This was a major cause for concern and alarm for her. This got her treating her family members and herself to lose the extra weight causing health issues with gratifying results.

Based on this experience and her own constant fight against obesity and related diseases she has developed a medial weight loss program which is very successful. She helps patients "Bypass the By-Pass" with a no brainer, easy to follow program with lots of support. She believes that every individual is different with a different metabolism and lifestyle. So, she believes in customizing her weight loss program for every individual and uses more than one modality for treating her overweight patients. She has extensive experience with the latest medical therapies to promote safe and effective weight loss.

An advanced injector of Botox Cosmetic and dermal fillers, Dr. Menon is highly qualified to provide the latest and most efficacious treatment to her hundreds of satisfied patients.

Marcia Davis, M.D.

Dr. Davis began her career in the medical field by graduating from the University of North Dakota with a BSN in Nursing in 1975. After 8 years of nursing, she elected to advance her degree and attended UND School of Medicine, graduating in 1988. She completed her Residency in Family Medicine in 1991 and joined the USAF. She served active duty for 3 years at Mather AFB, CA and an additional 2 years in the USAF Reserves as a Flight Surgeon. She worked for 5 years for the UCD Primary Care Network and in 2000 joined the Emergency Room team at the Veterans Hospital in Sacrament Ca, where she is still employed.

Dr Davis is a fair skinned Irish woman who, like many teenagers, sun damaged her face as a youth. Her interest in Dermatologic procedures was cemented after she underwent a "full on" CO2 laser ablation of her face. It was a miracle to witness the disappearance of wrinkles, basal cell carcinomas and freckles to boot!!!!

When asked by her friend and colleague, Dr. Menon, to work at Physicians Skin and Weight center, she immediately accepted. She attended the Keller Institute for her training in Smartlipo™ and had the good fortune to work an additional month side by side with Dr. Menon.

Dr Davis feels that sculpting the body and helping people attain an enhanced self image is a very rewarding venture. She calls her Smartlipo™ job her "fun job" and she, and her assistant in the procedure, try to make the experience for the client as fun, rewarding and painless as possible

Gabriel Borges, D.O

Dr. Borges began his medical career in 1999, graduating from the University of California Davis/Mercy Medical Family Practice residency and is Board Certified. He has been practicing in Sacramento in the field of Primary Care/Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Borges was trained at the Keller Medical Institute for Smartlipo™ and is certified with the American Academy of Cosmetic Family Medicine. He is fluent in Portuguese.

He joined Physicians Skin and Weight Center for their reputation and the multitude of cosmetic services provided to their patients. He feels Smartlipo™ can improve self image by successfully removing unwanted fat in patients who practice proper nutrition intake, exercise adequately and are near their ideal body weight.

Greg Hachigian, M.D.

Dr. Greg Hachigian attended medical school at Emory university school of medicine in Atlanta Georgia. He then finished residency at University of California Davis School of Medicine. He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine. He was Assistant Clinical Professor at the UC Davis School of Medicine Emergency department for 25 years. He enjoyed teaching residents as well as treating complex medical cases referred to UC Davis. Currently he works at the VA Medical center emergency department in Sacramento.

Dr. Hachigian enjoys fitness, nutrition and health. One of his passions is cycling. He also enjoys horticulture and has an extensive collection of hard-to-grow orchids.

Throughout his life Dr. Hachigian has been interested in cosmetic surgery. He found his passion after being introduced to liposuction and after a rigorous training course became certified in liposuction. Dr. Hachigian enjoys the art of esthetically sculpturing his patients and making a positive change in their lives. Dr. Hachigian focuses on making the patient's experience as painless, stress free and gratifying as possible.

Thomas Gardner, D.O.

Dr. Gardner is originally a native of Cincinnati, Ohio. He received both athletic and academic scholarships to attend Marshall University in Huntington W Va. where he graduated with Cum Laude Honors in 1980. He studied 4 years at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine where he obtained his medical degree. After graduation, he completed a total of 6 years of Post Doctoral training. Three of those years were devoted exclusively to the study of Anesthesiology while an additional two years were spent in the field of Otolaryngology and Facial Plastic Surgery. Prior to moving to California, he held the position of Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. He is a member of the National Society of Cosmetic Physicians.

In his spare time, Dr. Gardner can usually be found riding a bicycle either on mountain trails or on the road. He also enjoys skiing in the winter and hiking and camping in the summer.

When asked why he joined Physicians Skin and Weight Centers, Dr. Gardner replied, " I enjoy working in an environment with friendly people who enjoy their work and are both capable and ready to answer any questions that patients may have. Physicians Skin and Weight Centers, with their experienced and compassionate staff, is the type of office where most patients feel right at home."

Anamika Sharma, MD

Dr Anamika Sharma completed her residency from university of Drew, Los Angeles where she earned her MD degree. In addition to that Dr Sharma has had opportunity to do Internship in Otolaryngology and clinical rotation at UCLA and UCI (university of Irvine)

Dr Sharma was always inclined towards surgery and procedure related to beauty. Dr Sharma is highly experienced in laser liposuction. She enjoys the artistry involved in body contouring. Dr Sharma specializes in SmartLipo the most advanced form of sculpting and body contouring through laser assisted lipolysis which is permanently removal of unwanted fat from many parts of body for example abdomen upper, lower, hips, flanks, bra rolls, arm and chin. She is popular among her patients for her personal touch and gentle nature.

In her spare time she enjoys writing scripts, yoga and spending time with her son and family.

Dustin Newell, MD

Dr. Dustin Newell enjoys the privilege of practicing the profession he loves while providing patients with the most enjoyable surgical experiences and best surgical outcomes possible. Dr. Newell attended medical school and completed his internship in Internal Medicine at the University of California Irvine. During this time he developed an interest in medical imaging and the application of minimally invasive techniques. Minimally invasive techniques are those which invoke the least invasive methods possible to achieve a goal and tend to minimize patient discomfort, morbidity and inconvenience. Dr. Newell's enthusiasm for minimally invasive techniques, along with his interest in cosmetic medicine, nutrition and health led to his desire to pursue additional training in liposuction.

Dr. Newell lives, practices and trains in Santa Clara County. Outside of work he enjoys music, running, soccer and yoga.
